Buttery Homemade Biscuits from Scratch

You guys gotta try these delicious buttery homemade biscuits from scratch. They are fluffy, simple to make, and so yummy! You can have these made in about thirty-five minutes. It will take you about 5 minutes to preheat the oven and mix them up and then they will bake for about 25-30 minutes.
Course: Breakfast, Side Dish

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • tsp salt
  • cup buttermilk

Equipment

  • 8x8 or 9x9 glass pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°.
  2. Spray an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish with nonstick spray. I use a glass baking dish for this recipe.
  3. Melt ½ cup butter in a microwave safe bowl.

  4. Pour the melted butter into the baking dish.

  5. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 1 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1 ½ teaspoons salt.

  6. Mix in 1 ¾ cups buttermilk. The batter should be thick and somewhat sticky.

  7. Pour the batter into the baking dish. You will pour this right on top of the butter. The butter will go up the sides and over the top of the batter.

  8. Spread the batter around with a spoon or spatula.

  9. Use a butter knife to cut the batter into 9 squares. This will help with cutting them after they have baked.

  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  11. They will be golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted near the center will come out clean.

If you are wanting to try to make homemade biscuits, this recipe is for you! It is easy to learn, quick, and you can make them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You don’t have to roll these out or cut them into circles. They are made by pouring melted butter into a pan and then pouring your biscuit batter over the top. Quick and easy!
