Peach Freezer Jam with Fresh Peaches and SURE-JELL
It’s peach season, and that means one thing at my house—making peach freezer jam with fresh peaches and Sure-JELL. This is the easiest way to use up peaches and start making jam, even if you’ve never tried before. You don’t need special equipment. You don’t need canning skills. Just a few simple ingredients, a large bowl, and about 30 minutes of your time.

Peach Freezer Jam with Fresh Peaches and Sure-Jell
Ingredients
Method
- Clean 6-8 containers. Mason jars with lids or plastic containers with screw on lids work well.

- Peel and get rid of the pits in the peaches. Finely chop or grind up the fruit. I use a meat chopper on mine and leave small pieces.

- In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of prepared fruit, 4½ cups of sugar, 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice, and mix well. Let it stand for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

- In a small saucepan, bring the combined water and pectin to a boil over high heat. Once it is boiling, cook and stir for 1 minute. STIR CONTINUALLY and set a timer.

- Stir that into the fruit mixture for THREE minutes. Don't stop stirring.
- Fill all of the containers right away and leave ½ inch head space at the top. Cover them with the lids and let them sit out at room temperature for 24 hours.

- Refrigerate the jam up to three weeks or freeze up to one year. Thaw in the refrigerator when ready to use.

Ingredients You’ll Need for Freezer Peach Jam
Here’s what you’ll want to gather before we start:
- 3 cups prepared fruit (about 2 pounds of fully ripe peaches), finely chopped or ground
- 4 ½ cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- ¾ cup water
- 1 box Sure Gel Original Premium Fruit Pectin

Step 1 – Wash Your Containers
You can use mason jars with lids or clean plastic containers with lids. Wash them well. Dry them completely. Any moisture can mess with the set of your homemade peach jam.

Step 2 – Prepare the Peaches for Homemade Freezer Jam
Peel the peaches. Remove the pits. Chop them finely or grind them down. I like to use my meat chopper. You can use a potato masher or whatever tool you have. I enjoy a little texture, so I leave some larger peach pieces in mine. Measure exactly 3 cups of prepared fruit into a large bowl.
Add the sugar and lemon juice to the peach mixture. Stir well. Let it sit for 10 minutes at room temperature. Stir every now and then while you wait.

Step 3 – Cook the Pectin
Pour the water into a small saucepan. Add the pectin. This is your thickening agent. Bring it to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Set a timer for 1 minute. Stir the whole time.
When the minute is up, pour the pectin mixture into the large bowl of peaches. Stir for exactly 3 minutes. Set a timer for this too. Stir the whole time. This is where the magic starts to happen.
Step 4 – Fill the Clean Containers
Use a funnel if you have one. It’s the best way to avoid a sticky mess. Fill each container, leaving ½ inch of headspace at the top. Wipe the rims clean. Put on the lids right away.

Step 5 – Let It Set
Place the jars of jam on the counter at room temperature for 24 hours. Do not tilt them. Do not check to see if they’re thickening. Leave them alone so they can get a good set.
After 24 hours, store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. Or freeze them for up to one year. Thaw in the refrigerator before using. Keep refrigerated after opening.

I LOVE Easy Peach Recipes!
I had the best time last week using my 25 pound box of peaches from The Peach Truck. We ate them every day! Not only did we have them for a snack, I made two peach crumbles, this peach freezer jam, and cooked spiced peach jam. I also sliced them and put them into freezer bags to be able to add to smoothies. The fresh peach flavor was amazing! The spiced peach jam is definitely one of my favorite things….ever. It takes more time to make because you can this recipe in a boiling water bath, but it is so worth the time!
