Simple Summertime Tomato Tart with Basil

This summertime tomato tart with basil is a perfect savory dish for garden gatherings, light lunches, or an easy weeknight dinner. Simple ingredients, big flavor, and a beautiful presentation make this tart a seasonal favorite. Pair it with some bacon....and yum!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 9 in. pie crust (homemade, frozen, or refrigerated)
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp. fresh basil, chopped
  • ¼ cup olive oil

Method
 

  1. Prepare your pie crust.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°.
  3. Layer the tomato slices in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.

  4. Sprinkle the cheese over the top.

  5. Sprinkle the basil over the top of the cheese.

  6. Drizzle the olive oil over the top.

  7. Bake for 20-23 minutes.

  8. Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
