Ingredients

  • 8-10 medium red new potatoes, skin on
  • ½ cup milk (you can add more to adjust the thickness)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
  • salt and pepper to taste (that means add just a bit at a time, until you get the flavor you want)

Method

  1. Bring water to a boil over high heat in a large pot. You need to fill it about ⅔ of the way with water.
  2. Slice or cube the potatoes into 1 by 1 in. pieces or a little bigger.
  3. Cook them in the boiling water for 15 minutes or until easy mashed with a fork.
  4. Drain the water from the pan and put them back in the same pan for easy clean up.
  5. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or with the mixer.
  6. Add in the milk, sour cream, salt and pepper.
  7. Mash until blended, but still chunky.
