Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.

- Grease a 9 inch baking dish. You can use a 9 x 9 baking dish, a 9 inch pie pan, or a small casserole style dish.

- In a large mixing bowl, mix together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1/4 tsp. salt.

- Add in the fresh cranberries and toss to coat. (nothing major)

- Mix in 1/2 tsp. almond extract, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup sourdough discard, and 2 beaten eggs. Stir until combined.

- Spread batter into a greased 9 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes.

Butter Sauce
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Heat over low to medium heat until the sugar is melted and the mixture is smooth and well blended. It takes about 5-7 minutes for it to start thickening. It will thicken as it sits out as well.
