Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 2-3 tsp. meat seasoning (your choice)
  • chicken broth or stock (cover legs ½ - ¾ of the way up)
  • 2 wild turkey legs
Taco Additions
  • 1 small lime
  • shredded lettuce
  • halved cherry tomatoes
  • sliced avadaco
  • cilantro, torn
  • salsa
  • queso
  • shredded cheese
  • tortilla chips or shells

Equipment

  • crock-pot

Method

  1. Place the turkey legs into the crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle your preferred meat seasoning or taco seasoning over the legs. Just enough to cover, but not thickly coat.
  3. Pour the chicken stock or broth over the turkey legs. It needs to cover them ½ - ¾ of the way. You don't want them to dry out.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. Carefully remove the legs from the crockpot (they will be falling apart).
  6. Remove all the bones from the legs. There a quite a few, but they will just fall out.
  7. Shred the meat.
  8. Stir in the taco seasoning and a bit of the liquid from the crockpot if needed.
  9. Serve with all your favorite taco toppings and enjoy!
