Crispy Oven Made Bacon

There are a lot of ways to make bacon, but my go to method is making bacon in the oven. It is a clean and forget-about-it way to make flavorful bacon. You will get delicious crispy bacon every time and you can make the other food items while it is baking.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Course: Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz. pkg. uncooked bacon

Equipment

  • Large Sheet Pan (with a lip)
  • foil

Method

  1. Get out a large sheet pan with a lip.
  2. Use foil to cover the sheet pan. You want to foil to be longer and wider than the pan itself. Flip the foil up around the edges so that it helps to hold the grease in.

  3. Cut open the bacon and lay it out on the pan. It is ok if the edges are touching.

  4. Set the oven temperature to 420 degrees.
  5. Put the sheet pan of bacon in the oven and set the timer for twenty-five minutes.

  6. While the bacon is cooking, get out a plate or a large serving dish.
  7. Cover the plate or serving dish with paper towels. They help absorb the extra grease.
  8. Take the bacon out of the oven and use a spatula or fork to carefully remove the bacon from the pan.

  9. Lay the bacon on the paper towel covered plate and serve.

Notes

If you want chewy bacon, set it for twenty minutes and start watching it to see when it reaches your liking. If you like crisper bacon, you will want to start watching it at twenty-five minutes to make sure you cook it long enough.
