How to Face Your Giants with God’s Strength and One Stone
We all have giants.
They look different for each of us.
For some, it’s a work deadline that feels impossible.
For others, it’s a child going through something hard.
It might be the weight of a broken relationship or the fear of what’s next.
Whatever your giant is, you’re not alone.
And it’s not all up to you.

David Didn’t Wake Up Ready for Goliath
Have you heard the story?
Shepherd boy. Giant. One stone. Victory.
But the power isn’t just in the moment David stepped onto the battlefield.
The real story? It’s the Lord’s Battle.
David was being equipped long before that day. David’s faith was being nurtured in the day-to-day work.
Day after day, he tended sheep. This might seem like a little thing, but it prepared him for the battle with a huge giant.
He practiced with stones. He learned to protect his flock.
He obeyed in the small things, and God was building something bigger.

You’re Probably Being Equipped Too
Right now, in your everyday life, God may be preparing you.
The laundry. The meetings. The late-night conversations with your kids.
None of it is wasted.
You may feel unnoticed or unqualified.
But God sees. He equips. He walks with you. God’s truth is equipping you.
What’s the Giant in Front of You in Your Own Life?
Is it fear?
Discouragement?
Exhaustion?
A conversation you’ve been avoiding?
A decision you’re scared to make?
Whatever it is, you don’t have to tackle it alone. All it takes is a single stone and your willingness to step out in faith with your heavenly Father. When you have problems, lean into God’s grace.

One Stone. God’s Strength.
David picked up five stones.
He only needed one.
The God of the armies of Israel did the rest.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
Just take the next step in obedience.
One small act. One whispered prayer.
Christ Jesus can use it all.
Practical Ways to Face Your Giant: Be Led by the Light of God
Here’s how I’ve started moving forward when life feels overwhelming:
• Name it. Say what the giant is. Out loud or in prayer.
• Look back. Remember where God has already been faithful.
• Speak truth. Find one verse and hold it close all day.
• Take one step. Do the next small thing in faith.
It doesn’t have to be big.
It just has to be surrendered.

Let’s Keep Going
You’re not fighting alone.
God sees your heart. He holds your future.
You’ve got this—but not because of your strength.
Because of His. The power of God is bigger than the insurmountable problems we face.

Bonus: A Quick Look at David and the Giant
You’ve heard of the story of David and Goliath. But let’s slow down and really see it. David wasn’t a soldier. He was a shepherd. David had spent quiet days in the fields watching over sheep, defending them from wild animals with the help of God’s power.
Even in the Little Things
He wasn’t fighting in his own strength. The Holy Spirit was with him even in the little things—the daily work, the quiet obedience, the practice with his sling. Those days prepared him for the day he stood on the battle line.
King Saul didn’t believe in him. He offered David armor that didn’t fit. But David didn’t need it. He picked up five smooth stones, just a little bit of what the world thought was enough. He only needed one. God did the rest.
Goliath looked like an insurmountable problem—a true Philistine giant. But David had something the whole world couldn’t see: the peace of God, the word of God, and a heart that trusted.
David didn’t come with sword or spear. He came in the Name of the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, whom Goliath had mocked. With a shepherd’s bag and a heart full of faith, he stood before the enemy and declared that the battle belongs to the Lord. He knew he wasn’t alone – he was backed by the armies of the Living God.
The Challenge You are Facing: Your Giants
What about your own giants? What battle are you facing today? Fear? Hopelessness? Weariness?
Remember this: Jesus Christ has already won the war. You still may need to show up and face the day, but you never do it alone.
It’s a good thing to bring your weakness to the One who gives strength. In this life, you will face battles. But with God, even the other experiences—the hard ones—can be redeemed.
Let the story of David remind you of God’s power. You’re not too small. Your problem is not too big. And the victory doesn’t come from you—it comes from Him.
