How did I not know about this 2-ingredient, Weight Watcher Friendly, simple ingredient, gluten free, simple dough? I was super excited to find this information and learn how to make an easy gluten free two-ingredient dough that I could use for pizza dough, pretzel bites, and bagels!
Jump to RecipeAll you have to do is mix together some gluten free self-rising flour and plain Greek yogurt! This two-ingredient dough recipe will be one of your new favorites.
Full disclosure, this recipe had ended up being a three-ingredient dough because I wasn’t able to find gluten free self rising flour. I had to add baking powder to the flour to get that self rising effect. Three ingredients are still really simple and basic. I like that I know exactly what is in my dough.
Steps to take when learning how to make this easy gluten-free two-ingredient dough:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients if you don’t have self-rising flour:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour and baking powder. Mix well to ensure the baking powder is evenly distributed throughout the flour.
- Add the Greek Yogurt:
- Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to start mixing until the dough begins to come together. I would recommend using plain yogurt.
- Knead the Dough:
Once the mixture is somewhat combined, transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. You could use a stand mixer with a dough hook, but you don’t have to. You may need to add a bit more flour if the dough is too sticky. Form it into a dough ball to use later.
Optional Additional Steps for Turning This Into a 2-Ingredient Pizza Dough Recipe:
- Shape the Dough:
- Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape and thickness. You can use a rolling pin or your hands to shape it.
- Pre-Bake the Crust:
- Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or on a pizza stone. Pre-bake the crust for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven to ensure it cooks through and becomes slightly golden.
- Add Toppings:
- Remove the pre-baked crust from the oven and add your favorite toppings.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Return the topped pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the toppings are cooked.
- Serve:
- Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, slice, and serve hot.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 cup gluten-free self-rising flour
- See notes below about not having self-rising flour
What if I can’t find gluten-free self rising flour?
That actually happened to me the first time I made this recipe. I just added 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and ¼ teaspoons of salt (optional) to the flour. The baking powder gives it that self-rising factor that you need to make it rise. Creating your own self-rising flour at home is simple and quick. Self-rising flour is typically used in recipes that need a leavening agent, like baking powder, already mixed in, making it convenient for quick baking projects.
By making your own self-rising flour, you can control the ingredients and avoid additives, creating a fresher, more customized option for your baking needs. You can make self-rising flour using all-purpose flour or even almond flour.

1. Refrigeration:
- Preparation: After making the dough, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or place it an airtight container.
- Storage Time: The dough can be refrigerated for up to 2-3 days.
- Before Using: When ready to use, let the dough come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to make it easier to roll out and shape.
- Freezing:
Thawing: Thaw the dough in the refrigerator overnight, then let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before using.
Preparation: Divide the dough into portion sizes before freezing, so you only need to thaw what you’ll use. Wrap each portion in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container.

- Avoid Overworking: Whether storing in the fridge or freezer, avoid overworking the dough after it’s been chilled, as this can make it tougher.
- Extra Moisture: If the dough feels a bit sticky after being stored, dust it with a small amount of flour before rolling it out.
- Shaped Dough: You can also shape the dough into pizza crusts, bagels, or other forms before freezing. Just wrap and freeze them individually, then bake directly from frozen (you might need to add a few extra minutes to bake time)

How long do you bake it for? I can’t see this information in the post. Would I be able to make some savoury muffins with this dough?
KeepItSimpleAnnaSue
Hey there,
I need to make a post with the exact recipes for the items you can make with the dough. This recipe is just for the dough, but let me tell you how I did the pretzel bites. It’s more of a dense dough and I don’t think it would be good for muffins. I haven’t tried, but that is my opinion on it.
1. Make the dough, roll it out into 6ish long logs, and then cut into bite sized pieces(about 8 per long piece).
2. Boil 1 1/2-2 cups water in a medium saucepan. Add 2 tablespoons baking soda to the pan and stir.
3. Carefully lower the pretzel bites into the boiling water and immediately remove them. Remove them with a slotted spoon and shake off any extra water.
4. Bake them at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
5. Pour melted butter over them and roll them into a cinnamon and sugar mixture.
5. Serve with more melted butter or icing. Enjoy!
Hope this helps!
